You don't need something flashy and extravagant to show commitment and sincerity. They have to be functional, and can be stylish if desired. Yes, which is why a big semi-transparent watermark stripe is the way to go, with opaque bits here and there. And most social media services tend to strip out the metadata info for a photo, especially the bit that contains copyright info and contact details. Watermarks do not ensure any security for your photos, they can be cropped out.

I explained two ways in which software will allow you to add watermarks to your photos. This seems to happen after changing to a different watermark. If it wont work for some reason, nothing I have tried will resolve it. I rarely had problems with the vanishing watermark before, but not it only works about 6 of the time. I didn't say I was recommending them or suggesting them. Unfortunately, it has not been fixed on mine.
Oh I didn't miss what you wrote, you completely did not understand what I wrote. You suggested two paid programs, which goes to say that you haven't even understood the question. The question was whether there's a free program I can use to watermark my photos. I already think they're worth watermarking, which is why I'm asking for a way to watermark them in the first place. If you want other people who aren’t sitting at your computer to be able to see your photos, you need to get the photos from Lightroom into something else. But in and of itself it’s not a sharing service. And it has some handy slideshow functions for viewing photos yourself. Whether they're worth watermarking or not is up to me. Lightroom is one of the best ways of organizing and processing your photos on your own computer. You missed/ignored both the thread title and the original post.
